In real rooms

All things color, in your inbox.
Paint colors worth knowing, the rooms they live in, and where color is going — in design, fashion, and beyond. Free, and only when we have something to say.
How it reads
Olive Colour is one of Little Greene's Colours of England — a deep, muted yellow-green olive with a history: the brand quotes Mrs Delany, who in the 1700s 'painted her room a sort of olive green for her pictures'. It is rich, earthy and remarkably good behind art.
In a drawing room it is enveloping and warm, and it flatters both antique wood and saturated textiles — pinks, ochres, faded reds. Keep the ceiling and cornice a warm white to give it air.
