All things color, in your inbox.
Paint colors worth knowing, the rooms they live in, and where color is going — in design, fashion, and beyond. Free, and only when we have something to say.
How it reads
Saybrook Sage HC-114 is a mid-tone sage from Benjamin Moore's Historical Colors. Benjamin Moore describes it as "a soothing aloe hue cooled with a splash of gray", with an LRV of 45.46.
In the Ome Dezin bedroom on this page, photographed by Austin Leis, it covers the walls and ceiling of an attic room.
What Saybrook Sage is
Saybrook Sage HC-114 is part of Benjamin Moore's Historical Colors, hex #B1B7A2, LRV 45.46. Benjamin Moore calls it "a soothing aloe hue cooled with a splash of gray".
Jenna Sue Design, who tested it for her own kitchen, says it is "a true green" that is not easily mistaken for grey or blue.
How it behaves in light
The Painted Hinge calls its shifting quality chameleon-like: greener in morning light, greyer later. Blacksburg Belle sees a warm undertone with a touch of grey.
As a mid-tone it holds its colour in most rooms without going dark.
Where to use it
In the rooms on this page, photographed by Austin Leis, Saybrook Sage covers the walls and sloped ceiling of an Ome Dezin attic bedroom.
It is a favourite for kitchen cabinets, as Jenna Sue Design's sage roundup shows.
What it sits next to
Benjamin Moore lists October Mist, Salisbury Green, Aganthus Green and Croquet as similar, and coordinates it with Tapestry Beige, Copley Gray, Paper White and Smokestack Gray.
On this site, compare it with Privilege Green and Sea Salt.
