The difference

Read from the numbers

Simply White is the lighter of the two at LRV 89.52, 15.8 points above Cascade White at LRV 73.71. Simply White leans warm where Cascade White reads cool. Both belong to the whites family. For a whole room, Simply White is the safer, more forgiving choice thanks to its higher LRV, while Cascade White is the bolder pick.

How they read

In their own words

Simply White is one of Benjamin Moore's most-specified whites — bright, at LRV 90, and warm without being creamy. A touch of yellow keeps it friendly, but it is light enough that it reads as a true white in almost every room, which is why it works on walls, trim and ceilings together.

Cascade White is a cool off-white with a blue-grey cast that is visible even on the chip. At LRV 74 it is bright enough to read as white across a room, but next to a warm white it is unmistakably tinted — the color of a cloud on a clear day. It is crisp, modern and a little Scandinavian.
