John Ruggiero Studio
Five rooms in an Upper East Side residence, and the exact paint colors used.

Our first Designer of the Week is John Ruggiero Studio, based in New York and Palm Springs.
In this Upper East Side residence, the color play is so creatively done. Every room has its own mood, from soft limewash to deep plum, blackberry and shamrock green. Scroll through to see the space and the exact paint colors used.

Living room
Pixie Portola Paints · Lime Wash
The living room is washed in Pixie, a soft peach limewash from Portola Paints. Limewash dries with a chalky, slightly mottled finish, so the walls read warm and textured rather than flat. Look through the doorway and the next room's plum walls come into view, so the colors connect from one space to the next.

Entry
Poe Portola Paints · Roman Clay
The entry is finished in Poe, which Portola Paints describes as a deep plum, in its Roman Clay finish.

Theater
Blackberry Sherwin-Williams · SW 7577
Blackberry SW 7577 wraps the theater. Sherwin-Williams lists its light reflectance value (LRV) at 4.81, so it absorbs most of the light that hits it, which suits a room made for watching.

Kitchen
Shamrock Sherwin-Williams · SW 6454
In the kitchen, Shamrock SW 6454 goes on the cabinetry and island: a deep green (LRV 6.417, per Sherwin-Williams) set against painted mural walls.

Bedroom
Georgian Revival Blue Sherwin-Williams · SW 7609
The bedroom is the boldest note: Georgian Revival Blue SW 7609, a saturated blue on the walls and fireplace.
