In real rooms

All things color, in your inbox.
Paint colors worth knowing, the rooms they live in, and where color is going — in design, fashion, and beyond. Free, and only when we have something to say.
How it reads
Clay is a Little Greene mid-stone neutral with more ochre than its predecessors — warm, sandy and quietly elegant. It is the colour of dried river clay: not quite beige, not quite yellow.
It is very good in living rooms with pinkish upholstery and dark wood, where it reads as a soft golden backdrop. It comes in limewash and distemper as well as paint, which suits its earthen character.
