The difference

Read from the numbers

Late Wheat is the lighter of the two at LRV 47.41, 35.9 points above Aegean Olive at LRV 11.54. Both read warm. Aegean Olive is a green, Late Wheat a yellow. For a whole room, Late Wheat is the safer, more forgiving choice thanks to its higher LRV, while Aegean Olive is the bolder pick.

How they read

In their own words

Aegean Olive is a deep, grayed olive that sits closer to bronze and khaki than to anything leafy. With an LRV just under 12 it behaves like a dark neutral: it wraps a room, dissolves corners and makes cane, rattan and aged brass look expensive. It is the green you choose when you do not want the room to read as green.

Late Wheat is a muted golden yellow with enough tan and green in it to stay quiet — the color of a field in September rather than a lemon. At LRV 47 it sits mid-tone, so on cabinetry it reads as a real color without ever shouting, and it has none of the acidity that makes most yellows hard to live with.
