The difference

Read from the numbers

Alabaster is the lighter of the two at LRV 82.215, 0.3 points above Swiss Coffee at LRV 81.91. Both read warm. Both belong to the white family. For a whole room, Alabaster is the safer, more forgiving choice thanks to its higher LRV, while Swiss Coffee is the bolder pick.

How they read

In their own words

Alabaster (SW 7008) is a soft, creamy white with a faint beige-yellow undertone — warm enough to feel inviting, clean enough to still read as white. At LRV 82 it brightens a room without the starkness of a true white.

Swiss Coffee is the warm white by which other warm whites are measured. With an LRV near 84 it stays bright and open, but a slight yellow-beige undertone keeps it creamy rather than clinical — the look of fresh cream rather than fresh snow.
