The difference

Read from the numbers

Groundhog Day is the lighter of the two at LRV 51.2, 41.2 points above Cherry Cola at LRV 10. Both read warm. Cherry Cola is a red, Groundhog Day a pink. For a whole room, Groundhog Day is the safer, more forgiving choice thanks to its higher LRV, while Cherry Cola is the bolder pick.

How they read

In their own words

Cherry Cola is a deep reddish brown from Dunn-Edwards' Perfect Palette accents — the color of the drink held up to the light, with burnt sienna underneath. At LRV 10 it is dark, saturated and enormously flattering to books, brass and patterned fabric.

A warm pink with just enough grey to keep it adult, Groundhog Day turns afternoon light the color of the inside of a shell. Drenched across walls and ceiling it reads like aged plaster; used on a single wall it warms a room without ever announcing itself as pink.
