The difference

Read from the numbers

Sicilian Lemon is the lighter of the two at LRV 83.37, 50 points above Creekbed at LRV 33.34. Both read warm. Creekbed is a beige, Sicilian Lemon a yellow. For a whole room, Sicilian Lemon is the safer, more forgiving choice thanks to its higher LRV, while Creekbed is the bolder pick.

How they read

In their own words

Creekbed is a true taupe — grey and brown balanced so evenly that it reads as neither, with a faint pink warmth underneath. At LRV 33 it is a mid-tone, dark enough to feel like a color and light enough to keep a small room from closing in. It is the shade of wet river stone.

Sicilian Lemon is Benjamin Moore 2020-60, the colour formerly sold as Moonlight. Benjamin Moore renamed it, so older chips and brochures may still say Moonlight, but the number is the same. It is a pale, clear butter yellow with an LRV of 83. It is light enough to behave like a tinted white in a bright room and cheerful enough to make a north-facing one feel as if the sun came out.
