The difference

Read from the numbers

Sicilian Lemon is the lighter of the two at LRV 83.37, 8.6 points above Dayroom Yellow at LRV 74.74. Both read warm. Both belong to the yellow family. For a whole room, Sicilian Lemon is the safer, more forgiving choice thanks to its higher LRV, while Dayroom Yellow is the bolder pick.

How they read

In their own words

Dayroom Yellow No. 233 is a pale yellow from Farrow & Ball, which calls it "a typical Regency colour" that takes its name from the light-filled dayrooms of the period.

Sicilian Lemon is Benjamin Moore 2020-60, the colour formerly sold as Moonlight. Benjamin Moore renamed it, so older chips and brochures may still say Moonlight, but the number is the same. It is a pale, clear butter yellow with an LRV of 83. It is light enough to behave like a tinted white in a bright room and cheerful enough to make a north-facing one feel as if the sun came out.
