The difference

Read from the numbers

Pure White is the lighter of the two at LRV 84, 26.3 points above Accessible Beige at LRV 57.67. Pure White leans neutral where Accessible Beige reads warm. Pure White is a white, Accessible Beige a beige. For a whole room, Pure White is the safer, more forgiving choice thanks to its higher LRV, while Accessible Beige is the bolder pick.

How they read

In their own words

Pure White is one of Sherwin-Williams' most-specified whites for a simple reason: it has almost no agenda. A trace of grey keeps it from glaring, a trace of warmth keeps it from turning blue, and at LRV 84 it is bright without being stark. It is the white you choose when the art, the furniture or the view is the point.

Accessible Beige (SW 7036) leans further into beige than most greiges, with a soft brown-gold base that reads warm and grounded. At an LRV near 58 it's a hair deeper than Agreeable Gray, giving rooms a cozier, more traditional feel.
