The difference

Read from the numbers

Pure White and Swiss Coffee share the same LRV of 84, so they bounce light almost identically. Pure White leans neutral where Swiss Coffee reads warm. Both belong to the whites family.

How they read

In their own words

Pure White is one of Sherwin-Williams' most-specified whites for a simple reason: it has almost no agenda. A trace of grey keeps it from glaring, a trace of warmth keeps it from turning blue, and at LRV 84 it is bright without being stark. It is the white you choose when the art, the furniture or the view is the point.

Swiss Coffee is the warm white by which other warm whites are measured. With an LRV near 84 it stays bright and open, but a slight yellow-beige undertone keeps it creamy rather than clinical — the look of fresh cream rather than fresh snow.
