The difference

Read from the numbers

Pelican Gray is the lighter of the two at LRV 58.58, 3.5 points above Revere Pewter at LRV 55.05. Revere Pewter leans warm where Pelican Gray reads cool. Revere Pewter is a beige, Pelican Gray a gray. For a whole room, Pelican Gray is the safer, more forgiving choice thanks to its higher LRV, while Revere Pewter is the bolder pick.

How they read

In their own words

Revere Pewter (HC-172) is Benjamin Moore's iconic greige — a warm gray-beige with a soft olive-green undertone. At LRV 55.5 it's slightly deeper than the popular Sherwin-Williams greiges, giving it more presence on a wall.

Pelican Gray is a light, silvery grey with a clear blue lean — cooler than the greiges that dominated the last decade, and all the better for it. At LRV 59 it is light enough for a small room and grey enough to feel deliberate. It is the grey of a slate roof after rain.
