The difference

Read from the numbers

Sea Haze is the lighter of the two at LRV 45.36, 33.8 points above Aegean Olive at LRV 11.54. Sea Haze leans cool where Aegean Olive reads warm. Sea Haze is a gray, Aegean Olive a green. For a whole room, Sea Haze is the safer, more forgiving choice thanks to its higher LRV, while Aegean Olive is the bolder pick.

How they read

In their own words

Sea Haze 2137-50 is a mid-tone gray from Benjamin Moore's Color Preview collection. Benjamin Moore calls it "a soothing gray with soft green undertones" that is "as beautifully complex as polished sea glass", with an LRV of 45.36.

Aegean Olive is a deep, grayed olive that sits closer to bronze and khaki than to anything leafy. With an LRV just under 12 it behaves like a dark neutral: it wraps a room, dissolves corners and makes cane, rattan and aged brass look expensive. It is the green you choose when you do not want the room to read as green.
