The difference

Read from the numbers

Pelican Gray is the lighter of the two at LRV 58.58, 13.2 points above Sea Haze at LRV 45.36. Both read cool. Both belong to the gray family. For a whole room, Pelican Gray is the safer, more forgiving choice thanks to its higher LRV, while Sea Haze is the bolder pick.

How they read

In their own words

Sea Haze 2137-50 is a mid-tone gray from Benjamin Moore's Color Preview collection. Benjamin Moore calls it "a soothing gray with soft green undertones" that is "as beautifully complex as polished sea glass", with an LRV of 45.36.

Pelican Gray is a light, silvery grey with a clear blue lean — cooler than the greiges that dominated the last decade, and all the better for it. At LRV 59 it is light enough for a small room and grey enough to feel deliberate. It is the grey of a slate roof after rain.
