The difference

Read from the numbers

Sicilian Lemon is the lighter of the two at LRV 83.37, 1.2 points above Alabaster at LRV 82.215. Both read warm. Sicilian Lemon is a yellow, Alabaster a white. For a whole room, Sicilian Lemon is the safer, more forgiving choice thanks to its higher LRV, while Alabaster is the bolder pick.

How they read

In their own words

Sicilian Lemon is Benjamin Moore 2020-60, the colour formerly sold as Moonlight. Benjamin Moore renamed it, so older chips and brochures may still say Moonlight, but the number is the same. It is a pale, clear butter yellow with an LRV of 83. It is light enough to behave like a tinted white in a bright room and cheerful enough to make a north-facing one feel as if the sun came out.

Alabaster (SW 7008) is a soft, creamy white with a faint beige-yellow undertone — warm enough to feel inviting, clean enough to still read as white. At LRV 82 it brightens a room without the starkness of a true white.
