The difference

Read from the numbers

Sicilian Lemon is the lighter of the two at LRV 83.37, 37.2 points above Safari at LRV 46.21. Both read warm. Both belong to the yellow family. For a whole room, Sicilian Lemon is the safer, more forgiving choice thanks to its higher LRV, while Safari is the bolder pick.

How they read

In their own words

Sicilian Lemon is Benjamin Moore 2020-60, the colour formerly sold as Moonlight. Benjamin Moore renamed it, so older chips and brochures may still say Moonlight, but the number is the same. It is a pale, clear butter yellow with an LRV of 83. It is light enough to behave like a tinted white in a bright room and cheerful enough to make a north-facing one feel as if the sun came out.

Safari SW 7697 is a warm, golden beige from Sherwin-Williams with an LRV of about 46, so it is a true mid-tone rather than a pale neutral.
