How it reads
De Nimes is Farrow & Ball No. 299, which the brand calls "a quietly elegant blue" that "feels wonderfully down to earth." Its name and its shade come from the everyday workwear cloth woven in Nîmes, France, and Farrow & Ball names Shaded White as its complementary white. Stiffkey Blue and Inchyra Blue are the brand's darker neighbors; Selvedge and Oval Room Blue the lighter ones.
Max Aboody Interiors used it in a New York bedroom photographed by William Jess Laird and styled by Martin Bourne, where the blue-gray walls sit behind a checked throw, a denim-blue headboard and pale oak furniture. The color shifts between gray, green and blue as the light moves across the room.
