The difference

Read from the numbers

Aegean Olive is the lighter of the two at LRV 11.54, 4.5 points above Viridian Odyssey at LRV 7. Aegean Olive leans warm where Viridian Odyssey reads cool. Aegean Olive is a greens, Viridian Odyssey a blues. For a whole room, Aegean Olive is the safer, more forgiving choice thanks to its higher LRV, while Viridian Odyssey is the bolder pick.

How they read

In their own words

Aegean Olive is a deep, greyed olive that sits closer to bronze and khaki than to anything leafy. With an LRV just under 12 it behaves like a dark neutral: it wraps a room, dissolves corners and makes cane, rattan and aged brass look expensive. It is the green you choose when you do not want the room to read as green.

Viridian Odyssey is a deep teal that reads almost black until light touches it, and then it reveals an inky blue-green with real depth. At LRV 7 it is one of the darkest colors in the library — a genuine envelope color for panelling, cabinetry and rooms meant to feel like the inside of a jewel box.
