The difference

Read from the numbers

Seabrook is the lighter of the two at LRV 68.46, 20.5 points above Catalina Blue at LRV 48. Both read cool. Both belong to the blue family. For a whole room, Seabrook is the safer, more forgiving choice thanks to its higher LRV, while Catalina Blue is the bolder pick.

How they read

In their own words

Despite the name, Catalina Blue lives in the soft territory where blue meets green. It is a muted, sea-glass color — grey enough to stay calm, green enough to feel coastal — that shifts between blue and sage depending on the light it's given.

Seabrook is a light, clear aqua-blue — Benjamin Moore says it 'immediately conjures the sea', and that is fair. There is enough green in it to keep it from turning baby-blue, and at an LRV near 68 it bounces plenty of light while still reading unmistakably as colour.
