The difference

Read from the numbers

Monet is the lighter of the two at LRV 39.98, 30 points above Cherry Cola at LRV 10. Both read warm. Cherry Cola is a red, Monet a pink. For a whole room, Monet is the safer, more forgiving choice thanks to its higher LRV, while Cherry Cola is the bolder pick.

How they read

In their own words

Cherry Cola is a deep reddish brown from Dunn-Edwards' Perfect Palette accents — the color of the drink held up to the light, with burnt sienna underneath. At LRV 10 it is dark, saturated and enormously flattering to books, brass and patterned fabric.

Monet is a dusty, mauve-leaning pink with a beige base — a rose that has softened into something closer to lilac. At LRV 40 it is a real mid-tone, dark enough to feel enveloping in a small room and light enough to keep a powder room from going gloomy.
