The difference

Read from the numbers

Honey Hut is the lighter of the two at LRV 61.51, 19.1 points above Inventive Orange at LRV 42.41. Both read warm. Honey Hut is a pink, Inventive Orange a orange. For a whole room, Honey Hut is the safer, more forgiving choice thanks to its higher LRV, while Inventive Orange is the bolder pick.

How they read

In their own words

Honey Hut is a pale dusty pink with enough grey-beige in it to stay sophisticated. At LRV 62 it is light and airy, but it is unmistakably pink — more so than Bride to Be, less so than Pink Cloud. It has the softness of a powder puff and none of the sugar.

Inventive Orange is a mid-light, clear apricot — a genuine orange rather than a terracotta, with a warm yellow-red base. At LRV 42 it is bright enough to lift a room and saturated enough to read as a deliberate choice.
