The difference

Read from the numbers

Bride to Be is the lighter of the two at LRV 70.69, 13.7 points above Setting Plaster at LRV 57. Both read warm. Both belong to the pink family. For a whole room, Bride to Be is the safer, more forgiving choice thanks to its higher LRV, while Setting Plaster is the bolder pick.

How they read

In their own words

Setting Plaster No. 231 is a dusty pink from Farrow & Ball, named after "the blushing walls we often admire in newly plastered houses". The brand says it is "definitely a pink in historic terms, but has a certain softness to it due to the inclusion of yellow pigment".

Bride to Be is a whisper of pink folded into a warm off-white. At LRV 71 it is light enough to use as a whole-room neutral, and in most light it reads as a soft, flattering beige — the blush only shows when you put it next to a true white. It is the color of the inside of a shell.
