The difference

Read from the numbers

Tundra is the lighter of the two at LRV 77.07, 20.1 points above Setting Plaster at LRV 57. Setting Plaster leans warm where Tundra reads cool. Setting Plaster is a pink, Tundra a white. For a whole room, Tundra is the safer, more forgiving choice thanks to its higher LRV, while Setting Plaster is the bolder pick.

How they read

In their own words

Setting Plaster No. 231 is a dusty pink from Farrow & Ball, named after "the blushing walls we often admire in newly plastered houses". The brand says it is "definitely a pink in historic terms, but has a certain softness to it due to the inclusion of yellow pigment".

Tundra is the off-white for people who find most whites too creamy. Its LRV of 77 puts it in soft-white territory, but the base is a cool, faintly green-blue grey, so it reads clean and quiet rather than warm. On plaster mouldings and in rooms with a lot of daylight it looks like fresh air.
