The difference

Read from the numbers

Sirene leans cool where Spoonful of Sugar reads warm. Sirene is a blue, Spoonful of Sugar a orange.

How they read

In their own words

Sirene is a Portola Roman Clay in what the brand calls 'a calm marine blue'. Because Roman Clay is troweled on rather than brushed, the colour is never flat — it moves between pale sea-blue and deeper slate across a single wall.

Do not let the name fool you — Spoonful of Sugar is a deep, saturated caramel-terracotta, not a pastel. With an LRV of 21 it is a real color with real weight, and in a high-gloss lacquer it becomes something else entirely: a warm, glowing envelope that turns a library or dining room into a jewel box.
