How they read
In their own wordsStrand of Pearls CSP-395 is a warm off-white neutral from Benjamin Moore's Color Stories collection. Benjamin Moore lists its LRV as 72.19, so it reflects most of the light in a room while still reading as a colour rather than a stark white.
Le Cygne — the swan — is a warm, matte ivory from the French house Ressource. It has the chalky, light-absorbing quality of old lime plaster, which is why it looks so at home on Haussmann paneling and ceiling roses: it softens the light rather than bouncing it around. Cream is present, yellow is not.
