The difference
Read from the numbersBoth read warm. Both belong to the pink family.
How they read
In their own wordsTender Pink is a mid-tone dusty rose with a clear thread of orange running through it, which keeps it earthy rather than sugary. At an LRV around 41 it is a real colour, not a blush — walls painted in it hold their own against pattern and dark furniture.
Dead Salmon takes its name from an eighteenth-century decorating bill at Kedleston Hall, where 'dead' meant matte rather than deceased. The color is a muddy pink-beige — salmon left in the sun until only the memory of pink remains. At LRV 35 it is a real mid-tone with unusual depth for a neutral.
