How they read
In their own wordsTranquility is a pale grey from Benjamin Moore's Affinity collection with a soft green-blue whisper — the color of sea fog rather than a city sky. At LRV 53 it is a true light-mid tone, and it does exactly what its name suggests: it calms a room without making it cold.
De Nimes is Farrow & Ball No. 299, which the brand calls "a quietly elegant blue" that "feels wonderfully down to earth." Its name and its shade come from the everyday workwear cloth woven in Nîmes, France, and Farrow & Ball names Shaded White as its complementary white. Stiffkey Blue and Inchyra Blue are the brand's darker neighbors; Selvedge and Oval Room Blue the lighter ones.
