The difference

Read from the numbers

Tundra is the lighter of the two at LRV 77.07, 62.3 points above Coat of Arms at LRV 14.74. Both read cool. Tundra is a white, Coat of Arms a blue. For a whole room, Tundra is the safer, more forgiving choice thanks to its higher LRV, while Coat of Arms is the bolder pick.

How they read

In their own words

Tundra is the off-white for people who find most whites too creamy. Its LRV of 77 puts it in soft-white territory, but the base is a cool, faintly green-blue grey, so it reads clean and quiet rather than warm. On plaster mouldings and in rooms with a lot of daylight it looks like fresh air.

Coat of Arms is a deep, gray-tempered teal — blue enough to anchor a room the way a navy would, green enough to feel alive against wood, brass and raffia. At LRV 14.7 it is a genuinely dark color, and that darkness is where its elegance lives: it recedes, it flatters everything placed against it, and it never looks like a color that is trying.
