The difference

Read from the numbers

Seabrook is the lighter of the two at LRV 68.46, 53.7 points above Coat of Arms at LRV 14.74. Both read cool. Both belong to the blue family. For a whole room, Seabrook is the safer, more forgiving choice thanks to its higher LRV, while Coat of Arms is the bolder pick.

How they read

In their own words

Seabrook is a light, clear aqua-blue — Benjamin Moore says it 'immediately conjures the sea', and that is fair. There is enough green in it to keep it from turning baby-blue, and at an LRV near 68 it bounces plenty of light while still reading unmistakably as colour.

Coat of Arms is a deep, gray-tempered teal — blue enough to anchor a room the way a navy would, green enough to feel alive against wood, brass and raffia. At LRV 14.7 it is a genuinely dark color, and that darkness is where its elegance lives: it recedes, it flatters everything placed against it, and it never looks like a color that is trying.
