The difference

Read from the numbers

Deep Secret is the lighter of the two at LRV 11.64, 4.6 points above Viridian Odyssey at LRV 7. Both read cool. Viridian Odyssey is a blue, Deep Secret a gray. For a whole room, Deep Secret is the safer, more forgiving choice thanks to its higher LRV, while Viridian Odyssey is the bolder pick.

How they read

In their own words

Viridian Odyssey is a deep teal that reads almost black until light touches it, and then it reveals an inky blue-green with real depth. At LRV 7 it is one of the darkest colors in the library — a genuine envelope color for panelling, cabinetry and rooms meant to feel like the inside of a jewel box.

Deep Secret is a dark charcoal grey with a clear blue undertone — Benjamin Moore files it in the blue family and calls it 'your new favorite gray'. It comes from the Color Stories collection, whose full-spectrum formulas shift more with the light than standard paints.
