The difference

Read from the numbers

Inventive Orange is the lighter of the two at LRV 42.41, 35.4 points above Viridian Odyssey at LRV 7. Viridian Odyssey leans cool where Inventive Orange reads warm. Viridian Odyssey is a blue, Inventive Orange a orange. For a whole room, Inventive Orange is the safer, more forgiving choice thanks to its higher LRV, while Viridian Odyssey is the bolder pick.

How they read

In their own words

Viridian Odyssey is a deep teal that reads almost black until light touches it, and then it reveals an inky blue-green with real depth. At LRV 7 it is one of the darkest colors in the library — a genuine envelope color for panelling, cabinetry and rooms meant to feel like the inside of a jewel box.

Inventive Orange is a mid-light, clear apricot — a genuine orange rather than a terracotta, with a warm yellow-red base. At LRV 42 it is bright enough to lift a room and saturated enough to read as a deliberate choice.
